Plugins

Plugins are local ML tools backed by ONNX Runtime. Planar currently uses them for image operations such as background removal and Real-ESRGAN upscaling.

Pipeline behavior

The app exposes one ML pipeline. Active tools run in pipeline order and can target either the source image or the final image. A plugin may need a model before it can run; the plugin manager shows whether its model is ready, downloading, loading, or in error.

Using a plugin

Open Settings → Plugins, refresh the plugin list, enable the tools you want, and make sure any required model is loaded. You can then run the pipeline from the image workflow or call the same operations through MCP.

Plugins process local image data. Review plugin model licenses separately from Planar’s license.
